More than Delighted
We won’t be staying anywhere else in Taupo after staying here. Our room had the
delightful appeal of a stylish modern apartment. The view of the mountains and lake from
our lounge were stunningly beautiful and our bedroom was quiet with the most comfortable
bed.. we both slept very well. A stylish kitchen and bathroom with all the accessories
you need.. our own sparkling clean private hot pool outside our room. A brilliant
lakeside location with safe parking and wonderful Hosts. This is a quality and
affordable Stay, and we were more than delighted.

Great accommodation with lake views
Fantastic place to stay in Taupo. We stayed 3 nights and loved that we could see Lake
Taupo from our room and walk into town in around 15 minutes. Our room had everything we
needed and was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We also loved the home-baked biscuits
waiting for us on arrival.

The superior rooms with lakeview and hot tub are perfect for your stay✅ perfect location
as walking distance to town and the view is amazing as on a nice day you can see the

Absolutely fantastic stay at Gables Lakefront Motel in Taupo! Went with a group of
friends over the January holidays from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with
warmth and hospitality. The stunning views of Lake Taupo left us speechless. The room
was immaculate, spacious, and provided all the comforts of home. The staff went above
and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable, the homemade biscuits are such a great
touch. The tranquil atmosphere combined with the convenient location made exploring
Taupo a breeze. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be

So affordable.. So Superb
Brilliant location .. comfy, clean modern motel room ..separate quiet bedroom with a

Wonderful accommodation with fabulous outlook
What a wonderful find in Taupo! Fabulous accommodation in a stunning location. A real
little gem! A lovely friendly welcome by owners who couldn’t do enough for us.
Accommodation excellent and absolutely spotless. Bathroom and kitchenette very well
equipped with everything you need. Would have been great to stay longer but had to move
on. Great base for visiting area. Something to see and do in each direction.
The outlook absolutely fabulous and we had a welcome dip in the beautiful Lake T. Thank
you to owners for a great stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent location and Clean Rooms
Great find! This motel exceeded expectations. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and friendly
staff. Perfect for a quick stop on our road trip. Will definitely stay again.
Impressed by the cleanliness and home baked cookies. Convenient location, easy
check-in, lakeviews and excellent location to go swimming in lake. The hot pool in room
awesome for winter too.

Great place to stay with views of Lake Taupo!
The Gables is owner operated and an excellent place to stay with views of lake taupō. We
were warmly greeted by Franky and his Wife. Franky showed us to the room which was
immaculately clean and told us to make sure to eat the biscuits which his wife had baked
and they were delicious!

Great Views, Clean
Stayed there for one night for business. Room was nice with a great view of the lake. Sky channels (cable TV NZ style) available , clean, slept well. Hosts were very pleasant. Did I mention the view - very nice - unobstructed water views - it is on the lake .

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable unit with a view of the lake and mountains. The owners were very hospitable and friendly. We were walk-ins as our visit to Taupo was very last minute so feel we were lucky to discover the Gables.

Loved the large rooms and hotpools! The rooms were very clean, and had modern appliances. Frank was very helpful with activities and restaurants in the area. Helped up book a fishing charter and gave us great recommendations for restaurants

Relaxation plus!!!
From the wonderful and friendly greeting at reception, we stayed for two very pleasant days and nights. There were home baked biscuits awaiting us in our very spacious, clean and comfortable unit. Everything we required and hoped for was there and available to us. Beautiful views and nice and quiet at night. The managers were very friendly and helpful. Should we return to Taupo we will definitely stay there again.

Brilliant views at the Gables
Brilliant stay starting with the incredibly friendly couple who owned the Gables. We
were personally led to a beautiful room with full views of the lake and shown through
the room which included a hot tub. The room was incredibly clean and had a kitchenette
with everything we needed in order to make our own meals. It was lovely and quiet- I
spent plenty of time sitting outside admiring the view. The Gables is also close enough
to town- 5min drive or 20-25min flat walk along the Lakeside (about 1.5km). Would highly
recommend staying here and if we come to NZ again, a stop here will certainly be
warranted!

A great stay in Taupō
This motel has absolutely everything! Comfort, amenities and a beautiful view. We can’t
remember staying in a better motel anywhere in the world - and we’ve travelled a lot.
We were lucky enough to have a room with a private hot tub - very welcome after a long
day out.

Wonderful place to stay
Highly recommended Gables Lakefront, not only was our accommodation very comfortable and
felt like a home, but the hosts are also very lovely. We had delicious homemade biscuits
waiting for us in our room when we arrived, the room was clean, and the spa pool was
fantastic to start the day with. Will stay here again.

Great stay, best views, friendly helpful owners.
As soon as my son and I arrived to check if any rooms were available for a few nights we
were put at ease by the friendly nature of the owners. They showed us the Superior one
bedroom apartment and we were sold.
We had the best view of Lake Taupo that you could ask for, it is literally just across
the road, with snow capped Mt Ruapehu in the background, picture perfect. Although i am
not a swimmer there is a swimming beach just across the road on the shore of the lake
where we saw many people enjoying themseves.
There was even an Icecream van and a Coffee van just across from us, very convenient,
very yummy icecream.
Sitting inside or outside our apt/room with a glass of wine in the evening or cup of
coffee in the morning was a highlight. Our room had a Hot Tub, very relaxing and a great
way to warm up after an early morning walk, or relieve night time chill.
All amenities were clean and tidy, I used the laundry room for some washing and had the
option of dryer or line drying.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Gables and would not hesitate to stay again or
recomend this is a great place to stay.

Great stay - spotless and friendly service
The Gables is an extremely professionally run property with friendly / helpful owners
and staff. The room was spotless and the facilities of high standard. It’s a 30 second
walk from the beautiful lake with stunning views across to the mountains - when the rain
lifted.
We were there for the Ironman triathlon and it was the perfect accommodation.

Great stay during NZ roadtrip
We stayed at Gables during our road trip around New Zealand. We were so pleased with the
spacious room; it also had everything you needed. The kitchen allowed us to enjoy a few
meals at the motel while watching the view. We also braved a few cold water swims, in
the mornings, right outside the motel in the swimming area of the lake before jumping
into the room's private hot pool to warm up. The couple who run the motel were friendly
and offered great recommendations.

Great weekend away
An enjoyable stay, the 2 bedroom apartments have all you need especially with children
(dishwasher, sky tv). Lovely to have our room all warmed up for us as we arrived early
evening. Family spa was well located to our room. Staff all very lovely and welcoming
making sure we had everything we needed. Would defiantly return.

Excellent stay on lakefront at Gables
Great accommodation quiet and warm unit great nights sleep. Hosts were extremely helpful
and friendly and were keen to ensure our stay was great. Woke to a beautiful clear day

Excellent
The Gables is a great place to stay. Lovely Hosts, very clean rooms with excellent
facilities. The private spa attached to our room was very nice after a day travelling.
The view of the Lake and Mountains has to be one of the best. We also appreciated all
the channels available and watched some good movies. We have stayed at several places in
Taupo over the years and are very pleased to have discovered The Gables.

Fabulous location
This was an enjoyable two night stay. The room was roomy, well equipped and warm. The
view was outstanding. Service was efficient and friendly. I would definitely stay here
again. The perfect spot for a short or longer stay. The personal hot tub was a bonus to
be savoured.

Friendly hosts and comfortable stay
The highlight of our stay was the warm hospitality of our hosts. We enjoyed the spa in
the room, but we also had access to the family spa, which was hot and steamy. The king
bed was super comfortable and firm. The bathroom was super clean and was great having
access to free wifi and loads of tv sky Chanel’s. An espresso coffee van on the lake was
an added bonus in front of hotel. Will be coming back for sure as the host promised to
make us an authentic Indian meal. That’s good kiwi hospitality for you. AAA+++ thank you
for our stay. Love Taupo.

Excellent service and rooms, ours with a private hot tub
We really enjoyed our stay here and will be booking again later in the year. We were
greeted by a lovely couple who made us feel really welcome. The room and facilities were
amazing and the lake located a few meters away from the Motel. The private hot tub was
the selling point for us and didn’t disappoint..what better way to spend a cool winters
evening after a brisk walk back from the restaurant.

Amazing stay
We stayed at gables for one night, staff was friendly, rooms very absolutely clean, all
linin were smell so fresh and new so clean and tidy. Plus point is a private hot pools
